15 Jun 2008 Have your say on Fair Play
England’s first Play Strategy, Fair Play, is out now for consultation. It sets out how our children will, in the future, have fun and be safe as they play, and recognises that play is fundamental to the development of every child. So far so good. The document also suggests that sustainable communities should offer a variety of places for children to play, places that they can shape through their active involvement in design and decision making. Even better. But - and here’s the catch - there’s no proposal to make more resources available to schools to improve play facilities in the school grounds.
