Accredited Facilitators can help schools and settings plan and implement the developments they would like to make. Accreditation enhances the work you are planning or already delivering and provides a structure to your work that ensures consistent results with the children you work with.
The initial one-day School Grounds Foundation Course looks at the principles and practicalities of school grounds use, design and management from a practitioner's perspective, including school grounds use, design and management, project planning and curriculum links.
Following the completion of this course, the two-day Accredited Facilitator course covers school grounds projects in more detail, including project planning, curriculum links, surveying techniques, drawing up plans, management, maintenance and monitoring & evaluation of a sustainable school grounds development programme.
Participants must pass a two-part assessment in order to achieve full accreditation:
Practical assessment - evaluating a site visit to a school you are supporting with their school grounds project
Written assignment - assessing your understanding of the basics of school grounds use, design and management
