Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage

  • To build awareness of the statutory requirements of the EYFS focusing on the outdoor environment and the adult role.

Early Years Base-line Day

Where is it?Sparsholt College, Winchester, Hampshire
Who is it for?

The day is suitable for those who would like to become LTL Accredited Trainers or Facilitators with Early Years as their specialism.  It is suitable for people with at least 2 years experience of working in or with the early years sector.

The course and assessment attracts 3 level 3 Open College Network units (details on request)

What is it about?

As part of the LTL Accredited Training Course, this EY Base-line day will focus on outdoor play in the early years sector.  It looks at the importance of the outdoors in the Foundation Stage, and how you can work with settings to help them see the importance of their outside spaces and how they can be used to support the curriculum.

This course is only available to you as an Early Years Outdoors Professional member of LTL (£75 per annum or £120-all ages SGUK & EYO Pro)

School Grounds Base-line Day

Where is it?Sparsholt College, Winchester, Hampshire
Who is it for?

The day is suitable for those who would like to become LTL Accredited Trainers or Facilitators with School Grounds as their specialism.  It is suitable for people with at least 2 years experience of school grounds work in some way.

The day is also an option for those new to school grounds who would like to work in this field.  Please be aware that this day serves as an introduction to the topic and it would be advisable to gain at least 2 years experience before moving to the training and/or facilitation days that lead towards full LTL Accreditation.

Suitable for School Grounds Professionals throughout the UK.

What is it about?

It aims to look at why school gounds matter; shows participants how the outdoors can be used by schools for learning and play; introduces a process that schools can use to develop their grounds and looks at issues such as funding and management of school grounds.  It is a practical day with group activities combined with time spent outdoors.  It also helps those who do not regularly work in the field of education get to grips with the terminology and current initiatives that schools may be involved in with regard to their grounds.

Early Years & School Grounds Facilitation Day

Where is it?Sparsholt College, Winchester, Hampshire
Who is it for?

Anyone who has attended one of the LTL Training into Practice Base-line days and who would like to develop their skills in consulting with all ages in the development of their outdoor spaces in schools or Early Years settings. Attending a base-line day is pre-requisite to attending this day.

What is it about?
Course aims:
         To enable participants to support settings by using facilitation techniques both with adults and young children.
         To prepare participants to undertake the LTL Accredited Facilitation assessment.
Cost: There are a limited number of Early Years Spaces at £95 + VAT (see booking form for details)
All other places, including all School Grounds places, are £195 + VAT

Early Years & School Grounds Training Day

Where is it?Sparsholt College, Winchester, Hampshire
Who is it for?

This is for those who have attended either the School Grounds or Early Years Base-line days and who have at least two years' experience in these fields. 

It is for those who wish to be able to run training, including INSET, for adults. If you would like to become an LTL Accredited Trainer, attendance at this course is required. Accreditation follows successful written and practical assessments.

Once accredited you will be able to run courses using LTL materials and promote yourself as an LTL Accredited Trainer. LTL regularly uses its accredited trainers to help run workshops at our conferences and other training events.

Please note that if you already have one LTL training accreditation in either SG or EY, you do not need to attend this again if you wish to become an LTL Accredited Trainer in the other sector.  You will however have to attend the other Base-line day and undertake that written assessment.

This day is suitable for school grounds & early years professionals from throughout the UK.

This course and assessment is worth 3 Level 3 Open College Network units (details on request).

·          To provide participants with a broad understanding of how the brain learns effectively.
·          To develop participants’ capacity to provide effective training courses.
·          To provide participants with the information needed to develop their own skills in order to become Accredited LTL trainers.
