Schools and Settings

As part of our support for schools, Learning through Landscapes runs conferences and training events for teachers, non-teaching staff and school grounds professionals.  Our nationwide network of Accredited Trainers can also offer support through local training in partnership with us.

Training for schools
Our growing network of Accredited Trainers is made up of experienced school grounds professionals who provide training on a range of topics related to school grounds. All can deliver training on an introduction to the use, design and management of school grounds .This can be delivered as a one day, half-day or twilight session covering our principles and practices and will help schools identify how they can start, or continue, to develop their grounds by involving the whole school community.

Accredited Trainers offer local, in-depth and on-going training programmes which have been developed so that school grounds improvements can be examined in manageable steps; giving focused, achievable goals to make the most of existing space and facilities.

Accredited trainers can also deliver training on a range of topics such as taking the curriculum outdoors; Healthy Schools, Healthy School Grounds; and Maths in the school grounds. They may also be able to offer a further range of training topics or create an event that suits your specific needs. Talk to them to find out what they can offer.

If you would like a training event for your school please check our list of Accredited Trainers to see who might be available in your area. For larger events and conferences contact Mary Jackson at LTL for training in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and Aileen Thomas at Grounds for Learning in Scotland.
