Outdoor science for schools
May 21 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
This ‘BioProfiles’ training is a fully funded event that will inspire and equip you as a teacher to lead outdoor learning sessions in your local greenspace, as a response to the climate protests. You will hear from other teachers and undertake practical outdoor activities.
BioProfiles has been an Erasmus+ funded programme sharing ideas and resources for studying the impact of global issues using school grounds and local greenspaces. We have worked with colleagues in Slovakia, Spain and Italy to develop ideas that have been tried and tested in Schools.
The activities will use environmental indicators to assess various issues in the school and local community. We will look at water, waste, ecology and much more. You will be supported with signposting to FREE resources which you can use in school after you attend the session.
During the course we will provide a free buffet meal and time to network with other teachers.
Course outcomes – you will be
- inspired and equipped to lead quality, curricular linked outdoor learning sessions,
- supplied with resources and lesson plans,
- given time to network and share practice with other teachers.
This course is targeted at upper primary or Key stage 3 secondary teachers in England and Scotland.
