Help to bake your grounds on hand

9 January 2012

Children are never too young to start finding out where food comes from - and here's a great opportunity for them to explore the goodness of home-grown bread.  Sign up to the Real Bread 'Bake your Lawn' 2012 campaign and follow the journey of bread from seed to sandwich in your school's grounds.

The Real Bread campaign is an initiative from the charity Sustain - the alliance for better food and farming.  Schools visiting the campaign's website can order enough free wheat seed to produce a small loaf from just a couple of square metres of your grounds.  There's also a free downloadable guide on how to grow, mill and bake your loaf along with an e-newsletter to keep you informed.
