About Jill
When did you start working for LtL and what does your job involve?
I started at GFL November 2016.
I help the GFL team with the finance and the office administration. I am in charge of the UK bookings and locating staff to fulfil the sessions required. Jumping in where needed to help with projects, keeping an eye on resources, arranging travel and logistics, plus a bit of office yoga!
The 3 experiences that have best equipped you for this role?

I worked for years in the design departments on location for TV & film productions. Getting on well, helping your team is essential and working long hours to strict deadlines. Basically going the extra mile when needed has held me in good stead for everything I tackle.

Growing up on an island where life was simple, hard, and beautiful. Having vast open spaces as a playground to discover and wander. Playing, exploring in every weather element, watching seasons change; the ebb and flow of life can be pretty and raw on an island. This way of life, love of nature and the outdoors has made me appreciate and get the most out of the simpler things in life.

Running my own business and being self-employed since I left art school has made me very aware of cash flow and handling budgets. Running an art gallery and retail store, working with artists, employing staff always made me look for the best potential in people.

Jill’s LtL Experience
What has been your best day at LtL and why?
Meeting likeminded people is a good day. When you find a great bunch of work colleagues that have the same passion about the outdoors as you do. Realising that I was part of this team has kept me having lots of ‘best days’.

Why a hand and a dog?
I did consider photographing equipment, but decided on my wee boy and dog. Getting outside isn’t all about equipment, sweat, conquering and winning. There is nothing more heart warming than a wee hand holding yours, following a dog through woods, mountains and nature. I hope I have created memories, and perhaps embedded my love of nature onto my wee boy that he will carry and share too.
