About Suzi
When did you start working for LtL and what does your job involve?
Officially I started with Learning through Landscapes on 5th July 2021. However, I became an accredited member with them way back and have worked freelance with Polli:Nate, Trees for All, LSNG and MSMP.
My job involves delivering LSNG across the green pastures of England. I get to travel (love driving), meet new people (bit of an extrovert) and help teaching staff to deliver more learning outside (my passion!). All in all this job is a winner for me!
The 3 experiences that have best equipped you for this role?

I have worked in primary education delivering outdoor education since my daughter ‘volunteered’ me at her infant school in 1999. The work I did with the children snowballed and I ended up delivering to nine schools in one town. Unfortunately, like everything, money became an issue and it whittled down to five then three, which is when I took on the LtL mantle and started freelance work.

My weirdest experience and proudest achievement was a weekend away with FSC at Juniper Hall and now I hold a certificate in hedgehog management!

As a mature student, I achieved my Open University Environmental Science degree while working full time at a local Junior school.

Suzi’s LtL Experience
What has been your best day at LtL and why?
Delivering MSMP at a secondary school in a diverse, deprived catchment. The school were so on board and the children had been well chosen for the programme. We achieved so much and I am still in touch with the staff there and know that the impact we made has been lasting even through the remainder of covid.

Why a fuchsia?
Everything outside can be anything you want it to be in order to achieve the learning objective. Is it a Fushia? Or a ballerina? A droplet of colour waiting to fall or a nectar filled cup for our bees!
