The ISGA Member Retreat 2021:

This event is directly after the International School Grounds Conference in Stirling.

On Saturday 26th of September the retreat attendees will take a train or shared coach from Stirling to Pitlochry (cost not included, expected to be £42 return). We have some space in cars if required, please let us know.

There is a 10 minute walk in Pitlochry, up a small hill. Assistance can be arranged if needed, particularly for bags.

We are staying in the Pitlochry Youth Hostel which has been booked exclusively for our use. The accommodation is in modest bunked dormitories and shared rooms. All meals and refreshments are provided from Saturday evening through to Monday lunch. The cost of accomodation and food is included.

The day meeting is in Pitlochry Town Hall, where we have use of the main room, kitchen and facilities. This is a 5-minute walk from the Youth Hostel each day.

A full agenda will be published via ISGA email closer to the event.

The meeting will take place all Sunday and Monday through to 3pm. There is a train just before 4pm back to Edinburgh or Glasgow (cost not included) with connections through to airports, London and onwards via Eurostar into Europe.

Do let us know any medical conditions we should be aware of and dietary requirements.

There will be opportunity to explore the beautiful town of Pitlochry, set in the edge of the Scottish Highlands and a few miles from the Cairngorms National Park. The town is surrounded by woodland, mountains and Loch Faskally which marks the confluence of the River Garry and River Tummel, flowing into the River Tay just downstream. There are plenty of walks and nature on our doorstep. The town has shops and facilities – supermarket, chemist, souvenirs, cafe’s and more. The town is also home to the John Muir Trust and their small visitor centre. We would encourage you to stay on – the railway line continues north to the Cairngorms at Aviemore, on to the city of Inverness and beyond to the wild north coast of Scotland.
