XPolli:Nation Teachers Q&A session
15th July @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Join us at XPolli:Nation Teachers Q&A session to find out more about how you can help Pollinators on your school grounds. We will be hearing from Dr Poppy Lakeman and other experienced pollinator champions on what other schools have done to make changes for pollinators.
The XPolli:Nation project supports young people wanting to take part in active citizen science and pollinator conservation.
We shared our practice and resources from our Award Winning Polli:Nation projects with our partners, and we now have the opportunity to share this learning with you.
The most public part of the project is the opportunity for everyone to take part in learning, recording and then planting and communicating about pollinators in school grounds and their gardens.
About the Project
X-Polli:Nation (funded by EPSRC and National Geographic) cross-pollinates ideas, methods and technologies for pollinator citizen science.
Our project researches how:
- People and Artificial Intelligence can work together in citizen science learning around pollination and pollinating insects.
- Outdoor learning and citizen science can be incorporated into our primary and secondary schools.
- Approaches to citizen science transfer to different social contexts.
X-Polli:Nation is an actionable citizen science project, that encourages everyone to create, maintain and monitor pollinator-friendly habitats and act as pollinator stewards in society.
The X-Polli:Nation project has been developed by the following organisations:
In Partnership with: UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme
And Funded by: National Geographic and The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC)
