Engage and motivate your learners through English literacy outdoor lessons in primary school.
Primary English Literacy Outdoors
Making use of the spaces and places you have in your school, we can show you how to engage learners in reading, writing and speaking outdoors.
English Literacy Outdoors is active and outdoors – demonstrating simple, low resource activities that you can repeat with your learners.

If you would like to find out more about our work, then take a look at the projects we’ve worked on, and those we have planned for the future.
How does the course work?
Many of the activities act as a springboard to more interest and wider inter-disciplinary activities. All the activities are curriculum linked – and support the notion that outdoors is often a better place than indoors for learning.
This course will show you how to:
- Explore your school grounds and local area as a context for developing literacy skills
- Suggest a range of tasks and challenges you can use, all with curricular linked outcomes
- Explore challenges and barriers, and suggest solutions to overcome them.
Dates and booking
This course is usually a full day, but can be run as two twilights.
Course costs are typically £580+vat and reasonable expenses per full day, for up to 20 staff. Price as of 1st February 2019.
