Bringing the curriculum to life
Secondary Foundations Outdoors
Secondary Foundations Outdoors is the perfect training to help you make the most of your outdoor spaces, building your staff skills and confidence. You will develop ideas and address obstacles to deliver truly effective outdoor learning.
If you would like to find out more about our work, then take a look at the projects we’ve worked on, and those we have planned for the future.
How does the course work?
This is our foundation programme, which typically runs as a full or half day in secondary schools and is packed with practical ideas and support for all your staff to try out with learners.
The training will also look at how other schools in the UK have taken lessons outdoors across topics and age groups.
If you want to start embedding outdoor learning into your school’s practice, this is exactly the right programme for you!
During the training we will:
- Explore the benefits to pupils and teachers of taking learning outdoors
- Experience first-hand simple tried and tested lesson ideas to bring all areas of the curriculum to life
- Share ideas and good practice to start preparing your own lessons, looking at planning and evaluating learning outdoors
- Building a shared vision and values and beginning to develop a long-term plan
