Parents as partners in play

Parents are a child’s first educator, and with this in mind, this resource is designed as a partnership between parents, children, and Early Years staff. It will help develop local connections to versatile and free outdoor resources, close to home. Please note that this workbook is in Welsh and English.

Description

Learning through Landscapes believes passionately that children and young people who miss out on being outdoors miss out on a flying start in life. The outdoors provides a rich and exciting environment for children’s naturally inquisitive minds and is the perfect place to develop and finely tune their motor skills, and contribute to their well-being.

Parents are a child’s first educator, and with this in mind, the resource is designed as a partnership between parents, children, and Early Years staff. It will help develop local connections to versatile and free outdoor resources, close to home.

Over a short period of time, staff members will work with the resources provided by LtL  to identify their learning needs and become better equipped to provide for outdoor play opportunities, through four Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions.

Please note that this workbook is in Welsh and English.

This programme has become our Nurturing Nature course, available to all Early Years and Childcare settings.
We also offer Forest Kindergarten training for Early Years and Childcare settings, using nature play as a basis for the pedagogy.
