Planning for real

Planning for real

Planning for physical changes to your outdoor space can be quite daunting, especially when it comes to ensuring that it reflects the children’s own needs and wishes. After all, there are aspects of planning an early years outdoor space that you as an adult simply can’t be the best judge of, like ‘Where do I like playing with my dolls? Where do I like to sit when the sun shines? Which bit of the garden makes the best mud pies?’. Inspired by the Planning for Real® approach, this Playnotes recommends an imaginative play activity that encourages young children to use props to plan their outdoor space, and includes many pratical ideas.
