Welcome to Learning through Landscapes, a leading UK charity dedicated to making lives better through connection with nature.
We help children and young people to connect with nature, become more active, learn outdoors and have fun.
Our transformation of school grounds and teacher training, alongside an unrivalled knowledge and expertise gained through practical action and research, has led to our reputation as the UK’s leading school grounds educational charity.
While still predominantly working in the education sector, our expertise has now been successfully applied to a number of different fields including: dementia care; working with young homeless people; and species conservation.

Who We Work With
Parents & Carers
Learning doesn’t stop at a school or nursery, it continues at home. Our plans can be used to help children develop in the safety of familiar surroundings.
We work with landscape architects and designers across the world to help design and implement new, exciting outdoor learning spaces.
Outdoor learning and play are so important for personal development, as these statistics from our Outdoor Classroom Day 2018 campaign prove:
Over the last three decades our projects have covered everything from school grounds design to species conservation, including the National Lottery Environmental Project of the Year, Polli:Nation. Our development team work with partners in the UK and across the world to bring together new and creative ideas which allow children and young people the best access to nature.
From working with the cutting edge technology of AI through to the traditional methods of surveying we are always interested in speaking to organisations with a similar passion and drive to see how we can develop new ideas.
We have lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. If your organisation has the skills or funding to make a contribution, then we would love to talk to you today.
Our projects have enabled generations of children and young people to connect with nature, and laid the foundations for the organisation we are today.
