Developing our outdoor play and learning in Early Years
Training for settings to make the most of their early years outdoor spaces. This practical workshop involves the participation of your whole staff team – building on their ideas, assessing their current practice and addressing common obstacles to delivering effective outdoor learning and play.

How does the course work?
The First Steps Outdoors course structure covers the following:
- Builds a shared vision and values for play outdoors in early years.
- Explores how to start thinking about and planning for developing fantastic outdoor spaces for play and learning.
- Supports staff confidence, skills and knowledge.
- Experience first-hand fun, simple provocations and behaviours to make the most of children’s play outdoors.
This course is appropriate for England (under EYFS outdoor provision) and Scotland (under Curriculum for Excellence, Building the Ambition and Blueprint 2020 / 1140 hours for outdoor learning and play)
Dates and booking
This event is available to be delivered as a full or half day session in your school or setting.
Course costs are typically £580+vat and reasonable expenses per full day, for up to 20 staff. Price as of 1st of February 2019.
