Description

A publication from Forestry England advising on good practice around Rope Swings, Dens, Tree Houses and Fires in woodland.

Applicable wherever you are, and within a variety of terrain, this guidance provides a good background context for permanent and semi-permanent play structures or sites for nature play.

Care needs to be taken when intervening in den building or other ‘creative’ activities as of play structure and facility whilst minimising any unnecessary or undesirable risks. This document seeks to strike that balance.

This document is useful reading for all teaching or leading play outdoors, including Forest Kindergarten, Forest and Outdoor Leader Award (FOLA) or Forest School Practitioners.
