Training and conferences

Teachers and practitioners across all subject areas report that active learning outdoors improves learning through greater pupil engagement, access to a wider range of resources and making connections to the world beyond the classroom. But how do you deal with the challenges of timetables, weather and managing a class outside? And what if your outdoor space isn’t up to much?

Whether your focus is on improving your space or using what you’ve already got to improve learning, our hands-on training programmes are designed to give you inspiration and a range of practical ideas that you can take back to your school or nursery and put into practice.

Our training covers a range of topics tailored to early years or school sectors. We offer half and full day courses as well as longer professional development programmes and can offer set modules or training specifically tailored to your needs.

Advisory Visits

We can arrange for an experienced professional to visit your site, discuss your plans and concerns and advise you on how you can develop your outdoor spaces to achieve better learning, play, health, biodiversity and social development. This is a flexible service that can include a basic visit or be extended to include a pupil or staff workshop and a report. Find out more about advisory visits.
